Here is this week’s tip…. Sort of….. see how knowledgeable your users are… I emailed five of these type of questions once a week for a month – it was fun to see who replied (and what some of the answers were!)…… if you don’t know the answers – they will be posted next week!!


What are the keyboard shortcuts for copy and paste in any Microsoft program?

What is the easiest way to make a screen zoom bigger (in Word, Outlook, or even the Internet)?

In PowerPoint, where do you go to change the slide footer already on each page?

In Word, what is the toolbar you can add and delete items from for easy access?

What is the fast easy way to lock your computer (2 keys only!)?

In Word what is the way to change the name of the person putting in track changes?

In Outlook 2007, 2010, 2016, where do you go to put on the Out Of Office message?

In Track Changes (Review) does changing the view to “Final” accept all the changes?

Where in Excel do you go to insert a chart?

In Word, once you have inserted a graphic, how do you change it so you can more that picture around the document?  

Can you do simple sums (formulas) in a Word table? What Ribbon/Tab do you use?

Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V
2. What is the easiest way to make a screen zoom bigger (in Word, Outlook, or even the Internet)?
Ctrl-"+" or ctrl-mouse scroll
3. In PowerPoint, where do you go to change the slide footer already on each page?
View ribbon | Slide Master
4. In Word, what is the toolbar you can add and delete items from for easy access?
QAT (Quick Access Toolbar)
5. What is the fast easy way to lock your computer (2 keys only!)?
Windows-L
6. In Word what is the way to change the name of the person putting in track changes?
Review ribbon | Track Changes | Change User Name (or, File, Options, under General, change User name and initials)
7. In Outlook 2007, 2010, 2016, where do you go to put on the Out Of Office message?
File | Automatic Replies (Out of Office)
8. In Track Changes (Review) does changing the view to “Final” accept all the changes?
NO! As many times as the attorneys like to think it does
9. Where in Excel do you go to insert a chart?
Insert ribbon | Charts group
10. In Word, once you have inserted a graphic, how do you change it so you can more that picture around the document?
Right-click | Wrap Text | Anything other than "Inline with Text"
11. Can you do simple sums (formulas) in a Word table? What Ribbon/Tab do you use?
Insert ribbon | Quick Parts | Field, or, Table, Layout, Formula.
12. In Excel, where is the ONE place you can change all the printing options (including page size, margins, orientation)?
There are two places for those options, Page Layout or File | Print (ctrl-P), however you can't do things like collate from Page Layout
13. In Word what is the best way to get to the point to create a Table of Contents easily and swiftly?
