Counting Down

The date is Thursday 13th November, the place is 155 Bishopsgate and the event is, of course, ILTA INSIGHT. And with three weeks still to go, it’s shaping up to be our best ever year in London, with delegate numbers fast approaching the 200 mark already and the exhibition space all sold out. If you want to join us, then head over here - http://www.insight.iltanet.org - to check out the programme and get registered. And if you think friends or colleagues would benefit from a day with us, then please share – remember, registration is completely free for those in law firms or in corporate legal teams, and you don’t even have to be an ILTA member.

Session line up finalised

A huge amount of effort goes into crafting the educational programme for every ILTA event and INSIGHT is no different. This year we have our richest schedule yet of peer-developed content, with sixteen sessions across four subject tracks: Strategy, Technical, Knowledge Management and Litigation Support. We have contributions from some of the most respected, influential names in legal, and, judging from previous years, the whole day delivers an intense learning experience – but a very enjoyable and satisfying one too.

Here are some of our top picks from this year’s programme:

Strategy: Unleashing IT To Disrupt, Define and Differentiate Future Strategies

Technical: Using the Cloud to Fill the Void Between the Business and the IT Department

Litigation Support: The Cost of Budgeting (or Not Budgeting)

Knowledge Management: KM for Business Strategy

The full session line up can be viewed here – http://www.insight.iltanet.org/#agenda

Striking a keynote

We’re delighted to confirm that INSIGHT will open with a keynote address from Elliott Ichimura, Global Services Director at Microsoft Dynamics. The theme - Embracing Disruption at the Intersection of Business and IT Strategies – will see Elliott scope out today’s operating landscape and throw down the gauntlet: “While alternative business structures, outsourcing and globalisation are setting the pace for industry (r)evolution, technology megatrends such as the cloud, mobility and social media continue to challenge the status quo. For firm leadership, it's not enough to respond to these disruptive forces –– leaders need to harness and capitalise on change. I’ll be exploring a strategic and proactive approach to alignment, prioritisation and investment in business technology, and hopefully kicking off a memorable day of education and engagement, and one where we encourage everyone to join the conversation.”

Location, location, location

One of the real excitements for 2014 is the change of venue. We’re always taking feedback on our events and looking at ways they can be improved, not just from a logistical perspective but from the overall delegate experience. We’ve heard good things about 155 Bishopsgate from colleagues - the flexibility of the space is allowing us for the first time to deliver a properly integrated conference and exhibition, with networking, drinks and dining also contained within our own ILTA area. That doesn’t just simplify delegate movement but also helps to generate the buzz, intimacy and atmosphere that is so crucial to events like these. We’re particularly pleased to have so many vendors joining us, and with them placed in and around the main foyer, it should be a very lively, vibrant affair throughout.

Join the conversation

There are two ways you can join in the conversation for this year’s INSIGHT. There’s the Subject Matters blog, where we are happy to host any articles, comment, white papers or similar relevant to the topics within this year’s program. You don’t have to be attending, you can be an individual or a supplier, just as long as content remains king. Please email jeanne@iltanet.org with your contributions or you can post them directly HERE. And you can tweet about anything ILTA INSIGHT related, using the #ILTAUK hashtag.

Sold out - but still time

The exhibition space for this year’s event may have sold out in record time but there’s still time for vendors to get involved. We have a limited number of badge-only packages, which allow for one vendor representative to participate fully in the day’s events, including access to all the educational sessions, lunch and refreshments, and the evening reception. It’s a superb networking opportunity so to avoid disappointment please email peggy@iltanet.org - as when they’re gone, they’re gone!
