ILTACON 2016 Session Top Pick List from the Corporate/Government/Law School Perspective

By Jack Thompson posted 08-23-2016 22:32

As a corporate member attending ILTACON, I have always approached planning my session schedule according to how the session title and description addressed my learning needs. As a result, I took away value from the sessions, however found some to be focused exclusively on how law firms operated or used technology specific for their business cases. Not having been a seasoned ILTACON attendee, I did not know where to look for recommendations on sessions which addressed non-law firm challenges or were collaborative between law departments and law firms.

This year, I intend to promote sessions which have a collaborative presence between law departments and law firms as well as addressing business challenges impacting both business types.  In addition, I want to promote our corporate, government, and/or law school membership speaking in these sessions for their effort and expertise showcasing on their respective panels.

The list of sessions (see below) spans over the entire conference with some overlap, however different areas of focus for each session.  Also as a guide to new member attendees and other non-law firm members, this will highlight some of the key interests impacting our business needs as well as future technologies used on both sides.

These sessions are in addition to Corporate Legal Day (Monday August 29th) and the sessions co-presented and developed by the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) and the Corporate Legal Operations Consortium (CLOC) (Tuesday August 30th).

Many thanks to those speaking in these sessions and I am looking forward to feedback!

 Cheers
