The Cybersecurity Act of 2015 and the Department of Homeland Security's Automated Indicator Sharing Initiative

NOTE: Prior to this event, please be sure to watch the on-demand presentation Homeland Security on CISA and AIS.

Description:
After viewing the recording linked above, please join us for this virtual roundtable to discuss topics addressed in the presentation. In the pre-recorded presentation, you’ll get an overview of CISA and AIS, and learn about the latest advancements assembled by the Department of Homeland Security to help identify and automatically block cyber threats.

Firms must manage endpoints, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, proxies, etc., which is becoming increasingly difficult with limited staffing. This event will be an opportunity for you to hear about new ways to automate updates for some of these systems, discuss the topic with your peers and ask questions of the presentation speakers.

Speakers:
Preston Werntz
is the Chief of the Technology Services Section for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's National Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Center (NCCIC), leading a team responsible for providing operations support, technology planning and technology development. He is also the lead for the Automated Indicator Sharing initiative, which seeks to maximize the near-real-time dissemination of all relevant and actionable cyber threat indicators among the private sector and federal departments and agencies. Previously, Preston co-founded Newbrook Solutions, Inc., where he supported the intelligence community and the Department of Defense as a system architect and software development team lead.

Andy Jurczyk is the Chief Information Officer at Seyfarth Shaw LLP, where his responsibilities include the direction and alignment of technology. With over 30 years of experience in the technology field, he is a frequent speaker on a number of topics and is a member of the Technology Executive Network (TEN), the Association for Legal Administrators (ALA), the Society for Information Management (SIM) and the U.S. Secret Service - CECTF. He is on advisory boards for Accellion, LexisNexis, Illinois CIO Exchange (ICE), eSentio, HP Autonomy, Litera and Traveling Coaches. Andy is also the Chairman of the National Legal Special Interest Group for InfraGard, a civilian member in this homeland security effort coordinated by the FBI.
