ILTA - ISO 27001 and Beyond

The global security threat is growing at an alarming rate.  This past year has exposed a series of widespread vulnerabilities in basic IT infrastructure used by most law firms, legal service providers, and many of the legal industry's clients.  In response to these developments, clients and government regulators are demanding increased security risk audits and compliance.  What role do departments inside and outside of the IT organization as well as third party vendors play in helping a law firm comply with client security requirements?  Can your current approach to security keep pace with these developments?  Hear how a growing number of law firms are taking an aggressive approach to securing their firms by leveraging the ISO 27001 standard to push their risk management efforts forward, better meet with their client compliance requirements, and prepare for potential future NIST framework requirements.

LEDES (Legal Electronic Data Exchange Standard) Session: What's wrong (or right) with eBilling today?
In the past 4 years the LEDES Oversight Committee has finished a number of highly visible projects at the request of the legal community.  As the LEDES Oversight Committee (LOC) considers future projects, it would like to hear from the legal community about what is right, and wrong, with ebilling today.  This will be an open forum where attendees can ask questions, voice concerns and help to prioritize issues that should be considered for action by the LOC.  Topics can range from ebilling formats, components (like UTBMS), administrating rejections and payments, other client requirements (like rate checking , case planning, budgeting and accruals), spend analysis undertaken by clients, global requirements, and tools available to get the job done.   All are welcome to attend this session where the strict ground rule is:  speaking in general terms without identification of specific clients, software, tools or ebilling systems.
